CLUELESS CITIZENS IN A CRUEL COUNTRY
It is not finished!
The best they can do is the worst they did. What else when there’s nothing else? The condition of clueless citizens in a cruel country is critical. Hopeless homes and hungry houses cannot be of any comfort in their dire circumstances. The rights of citizens are known to be entitlements and privileges recognized by the society and enforced by the state. In return for the rights they enjoy, citizens are expected to carry out their societal responsibilities in form of duties. Rights and duties go hand-in-hand; like two faces of a coin, none can exist without the other. But the reverse is the case in a cruel country, where the citizens are clueless and exposed to harsh conditions. Thus, citizens perform their duties but cannot enjoy their rights. In this kind of country, politicians are predators while their people are preys. Thus, the wrong people are in the right places.
Politicians profit from the pains of the people. The politicians are smart and sneaky, always pitting people against themselves, for ignorance ignites hatred. Whenever it is time for the people to make the right choice, they disagree based on religious and ethnic sentimentalities. The politicians sow seeds of distrust, while the people harvest disagreements. The more opposed people are amongst themselves, the more clueless they become. Only the ignorant can be confused because stupid people pretend to be smart; thus, they become tools in the hands of sneaky men and women. The society is sick if the leaders are silly. This is the case with most countries in the African continent.
Year-in year-out the people suffer and complain about hardship, yet they never seem able to do anything about it. Complains won’t change anything, neither will it resolve the complications, if the people refuse to protest peacefully. If the people refuse to speak up, they will never have their voices heard. If the people don’t stand up to their rights, they will never get up from where they have fallen. Worrying without working is a waste of thought. Most times, all that people do is just talk. Many don’t want to walk the walk. From villages to communities, from communities to towns, from streets to cities, from family houses to government houses. You don’t beg for your right; you fight for it if you must. If the people perform their duties, they deserve their rights. Freedom doesn’t come free, you either earn it or you fight for it. In a like manner, if the people are scared of the dangerous outcomes of protests, then they are just poos waiting to be flushed.
Man, know thy right. Never settle for less; go for the best, for you deserve the best. When the people don’t know how to exercise their rights, they make themselves dogs while the politicians act like gods. It is funny how events turn and twist. Before elections, the politicians do all their best to get the people’s support. Some may even kneel and beg for votes. Then after elections, when the people start to beg for their voices to be heard, the politicians turn deaf ears. The weak suffer from wickedness, but the strong must find solutions to end wickedness. If you must complain, you must be ready to confront. What’s the essence of speaking if no solution was found at the end?
“Agere sequitur esse – As a thing is, so does it act.” The wise acts with wisdom, while the fool acts foolishly. The wicked shall remain wicked and the weak shall be weak forever. Nobody can change anybody, unless they want to change. Ignorance ignites cluelessness. You don’t know and you don’t care to know; that’s foolishness. You know, but you’re doing nothing about what you know, that’s weakness. You are what you are because you chose to. Thus, it is what you’re that defines who you are. Face the facts, for not all truths are true. It doesn’t matter where you are coming from, for both citizens and non-citizens suffer the same fate in a cruel country. There cannot be tourism where there is trouble. When the wrong people take power, things go wrong, even in the right places. Religion and ethnicity poison the hearts of people, such that people who suffer together constantly fail to find solutions to their sufferings together. Everybody pays the same price when inflation infiltrates the economy. Be you Christian, Muslim, Traditionalist or whatever; if you keep quiet, you will die quietly. Rise up for your rights!
“Qui tacet consentire – He who keeps silence approves.” There’s no neutrality in times of nemesis, you’re either for or against; for all shall face the same fate. Silence is golden, but it cannot stop the storm; for the sea only hears what you speak to her. Sometimes, sacrifices are needed. Voice and violence are two friends of the same fate, but one must not fear the consequences of their actions, rather the consequences of their inactions. Good men suffer from evil men because they want to remain good men, hoping for the evil men to change to good men. But an evil man is an evil man forever. Evil only fears evil. You cannot change a thing, if you don’t do all in your power to change it. There’s no halfway to commitment. If you commit to a person, a thing or a cause, you commit fully. If you live in a cruel country, being clueless will lead to your death faster. Be awakened!
“Mors est certa – Death is a must for all.” Many will have to die, for a few to live. It is not enough to live in peace, if there’s no progress. Without growth, what’s the essence of life? People have the rights to criticize the government if she fails to protect the rights of her citizens, just as the government punishes her citizens if they fail to perform their duties. In a country where citizens exercise their duties but don’t enjoy their rights, rebellion cooks underneath. Nobody tolerates nonsense for long, not even a nun. You should wisely reason these: how can people pay taxes, yet there’s not an appreciable positive development to show for it? How do you want citizens to feel, when they cast votes that don’t count? Then, when the people speak up, the government shut them up!
One day, the people shall rise and fight for their rights, for their rights are inalienable. Why should the people be punished for carrying out peaceful protests? A clueless person is prone to confusion and exposed to complications. Thus, ignorance ignites competitions and unnecessary controversies. A cruel country is far from growth and futuristic developments, because people have to deal with problems before they can have progress. There’s neither peace nor progress in an environment where problems dwell. When the environment is not enabling for all, people get hurt and don’t heal.
Money, power, success and fame are the factors that’s drive the passion for greediness and greatness. You want it, you get it, but you don’t know how to use it; still, you want more. You want to lead, but the people knows that you can’t lead them. It is shameful when Presidents can’t preside over their people properly. Likewise, a pilot that can’t pilot a plane. The wise option is to resign and let another who knows what they’re doing take charge, to avoid crashing. How can a person without light, lead people in darkness? Beware, for if you move blindly, you hurt badly. It is selfish to think that you deserve what others desire. Of course, everyone has a destiny; but it’s quite unfair for the destiny of a person to cost people theirs. A bad leader leads his/her followers astray. Greedy people want to be great at all costs. They want to win badly, that they don’t care how badly that will hurt others. A greedy man often mistakes himself as a great man. Shame!
Dearly Beloved, always find out before you flip out. Seek to see, ask to know, for ignorance is a shame to intelligence. Nevertheless, don’t fight back, fight forward.
